1 pkg lime jello
15 oz can crushed pineapple in juice
1 pint vanilla ice cream
1 BAKED pie shell
Drain juice from pineapple; use some
of it and enough water to make 1 1/4 cup liquid. Heat the liquid in
a saucepan enough to dissolve the jello. Then add the ice cream ,
a chunk at a time, til all melted and stirred in. Chill in fridge
till sort of thickened. But not set (about 30 minutes.) Fold in the
drained pineapple. Turn all into the pie shell and chill well until
firm (another 30 minutes.) Top with whipped cream (Cool Whip) before
serving.
Sometimes she used:
1 pkg lemon jello
1 pint strawberry ice cream
1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries
1 1/4 cups hot water
And made it the same way. |
