GRAMMA MARY’S NUT ROLL

Crescent roll tube
Margarine
Minced/ground nuts
Sugar
Cinnamon
Raisin
Marachino cherries
Honey
Chopped Apricots
Egg



Roll out and patch the seams with fingers, to about a 12x15 rectangle. Spread thin layer of margarine over, sprinkle with layer of minced /ground nuts and sugar and cinnamon.

In one roll I add nuts and raisins; in another roll I add chopped marichino cherries.
Sometimes I use drizzled honey. Could use chopped apricots, too, if that’s what you like.

Roll it up tightly from one side to the other, tucking ends under and sealing the seam with water on your fingers.

Gently place it onto a lightly greased baking sheet; brush with beaten egg yolk and bake in 375 oven, 15-20 min til golden brown.

Gramma liked to decorate the tops with cherries cut star-like to look like poinsettias.

Wrap tightly in foil and keep if fridge. Dad likes served with butter.
