GRANDMA BERNIE'S WILTED LETTUCE
In a small pan or skillet, fry the bacon bits til crispy, turn heat nearly off to add sugar, stir in vinegar and heat for a minute or so. Pour over your lettuce in the salad bowl and toss well to coat lightly.
This is also great on freshly cut cabbage/carrott slaw as a warm dressing. Add salt and pepper if needed.
Mom used a whiskey jigger to measure her ingredients and it was the perfect size for everything!
